About Infant Massage

Welcome, parents!

If you are looking for more information about infant massage, you’ve come to the right place!

Please Note

Firstly, it is important for me to tell you that at any given time, massage is a one-on-one interaction between parent and baby. At no time will I ever provide massage to your baby, I will simply be your guide.

I must also mention that this training is structured specifically around infants between birth and one year of age.

Infant massage has so many unique benefits that I hardly know where to start. Here are a few of the main benefits:

Interaction between parent and baby during massage helps to promote positive nurturing touch, non-verbal communication and bonding, as well as develop trust, respect and confidence in both parent and baby.

Much like in adults, massage for infants also stimulates the digestive, circulatory and immune systems. It can also help to develop bodily awareness for baby, and help with coordination and balance later in life.

Because of these effects on the body, infant massage can provide relief for various ailments such as gas & colic and growing & teething pains, as well as promote healthy digestion.

Classes will be one afternoon a week for five weeks. Each class will be approximately 60 to 90 minutes, and will include new information and techniques, as well as reviews from previous classes, so it is important to complete the full course.

My goal is to have 4 to 8 parent-baby pairs per class. Dates and times are to be determined once I obtain my certification. Check back for updates!

My practice is currently based in East Kildonan, within reasonable proximity to Transcona and East St. Paul. I will initially offer classes within this area, but may expand to various significant areas of the city later.
