If you’re a parent with an infant under the age of one year, this class is for you. Whether you’re a mom or dad, whether you have one child or ten, whether your child is biological, adopted or fostered, you are welcome here.
The purpose of this class is to teach and promote positive nurturing touch and bonding among family. It will also teach boundaries and respect. If you’re able to learn and pass these skills on early in life, your child can develop them as (s)he grows older and translate them into new relationships.
Much like in adults, massage can promote relaxation, relieve stress (yes, even babies experience stress) and improve sleep in infants. It can also help aid digestion and relieve pain from gas or colic. Who wouldn’t want to learn that?
Attending an infant massage class is not only beneficial for your baby, it’s also a great way to meet new people with whom you have something in common. For new parents who are feeling overwhelmed, confiding in people who understand and building a support network is incredibly important.
